Welcome

July 1, 2015

Dear Parents,

On behalf of the Board of Education, myself, and staff, welcome back to the 2014-15 school year in the Bret Harte Union High School District!

The Board of Education and I are committed to providing a course of study that meets the needs of all of our students in a safe and secure learning environment while maintaining the co-curricular and extra-curricular activities that have established this District as an outstanding educational institution.

During this school year, our District will focus on the curriculum shifts necessary to prepare our students for the new Common Core standards at each grade level and assessment test which will be given to our eleventh grade students.  The purpose of these new standards are to better prepare our students for the transition to both college and the career technical fields.

Our Board of Education, certificated and classified staff members are here to provide a world class education and experience for your students.  Again, welcome to the 2014-15 school year in the Bret Harte Union High School District!

Sincerely,

Michael S. Chimente

Superintendent
